| In the middle of the deep forests of "Kolmarden", in the little and old community Stavsjo, we live with our dogs and mohair goats (and some occasional hedgehogs and herons). | |

Our first Bergamasco we got from Finland 1999. It was after a long waiting that we in September 1999 at last could go for our Gizella at Kennel Fallen Hause in Finland. She was a lovely envoy for the breed, very typical both exteriorly and mentally. She managed to become a Nordic Champion before we, very suddenly had to take her away. She was only 2˝ years old suffering from a quickly growing tumour in one of her hocks. After the first sorrow and feeling of loss we started to look for a new Bergamasco. In the meantime we were fully occupied trying to keep our little white Puli happy. She missed her friend and extra mother Gizella as much as we did. After having looked over, almost the whole of Europe we finally found the solution in Sweden. The owners of Bautastenens Kennel had saved a few puppies in order to guarantee the future of the breed in Sweden. However due to important commissions of trust their situation had changed and took much more of their time. We were invited to have a look at their dogs and succeeded to persuade them to, with a bleeding heart, let us have Alba. Alba then was 2˝ year old. At that time there were two Bergamasco-couples in Sweden. Even so we realised that the Bergamasco's had no future in Sweden if we did not take active part in the surviving of the breed. In order to have new blood lines in our country we have in 2003 imported a bitch from Italy, Ria dell´Albera. During the summer 2005 Arthur came to us from David & Reyna Knight in the UK. Arthur, Chique Shining Diamond has contributed to a very large extent to the future of the breed in Sweden. Winter 2005-2006 four of Maria Andriolis beautiful Bergamasco came to us. All of them Luciola, Onfis, Miseno and Numa had to spend some month in quarantine at Tempeludden before they became Swedish citizens. |
